Changing Seasons at Limefitt Park

Limefitt Park changes from season to season. Every change brings new possibilities and offers different opportunities for our guests.

Spring

Spring

In Spring the new green is coming through. The Lake District is decked with swathes of daffodils and bluebells. Nature at Limefitt comes alive after the long Winter months and the local walks are brightened by the exuberant spring colours. It is still quiet outside the peak times and it is possible to walk for miles locally without greeting more than a handful of people.

Summer

Summer

The long Summer holidays provide a fantastic opportunity for kids to make friends and explore the park. The local scenery is breathtaking and the flowers and blossom provide sometimes unexpected highlights. This picture of the wild garlic growing near Ing Bridge shows just how beautiful this time of year can be. It’s a pity we can’t capture the scent here!

Autumn

Autumn

After the hectic pace of the long Summer holidays life slows down again in Autumn and the golden colours of the trees rivals the Spring display in its beauty and intensity. Walking in the local area is wonderful at this time of year with the hedgerows filled with berries and nuts. This beautiful tree is only a few yards from Windermere Lodge

Winter

Winter

Winter in the Lakes can be cold and snow is common, but it can also be great fun. Sledging up in the Kirkstone Pass is one of the highlights of the Limefitt year. Imagine sledging down the hill and then getting back to the Lodge for a warming hot chocolate in the comfort of the centrally heated lounge, or walking up the hill to the local pubs and sitting in front of a real fire.
