The map above can be toggled between map, satellite and terrain views. You can also zoom in and out and pan around.
Please note that the most detailed imagery must be a few years old as it shows Limefitt as it was before the more recent lodge developments.
The picture of the Lodge is centered over Limefitt Park.
We have added the locations of various place of interest to the map as well, so you can get an idea of some of the many places to visit and things to do. If you click “View Larger Map” you will see an index on the left hand side of the window that opens up.
If you really want to find out more about the area then may we suggest that you turn on the Wikipedia link in the Google Map. This way you will have one click access to a huge library of interesting facts about the region. To do this click on the “More” button (only available when you have opened up the larger map) and check mark the Wikipedia option. You will now see dozens of small “W” markers indicating where articles can be found.
This spacious privately owned lodge located within Limefitt Park is situated less than 30 minutes by car from Junction 36 of the M6.
The post code for Limefitt Park is LA23 1PA
If you are coming from the M6 J 36, your unit may direct you to take a short cut, turning right in the village of Ings. This uses country roads that are narrow and can be very treacherous in winter. The right turn where this road rejoins the A592 is shortly after the brow of a hill. Whilst this is in a 40 MPH limit you should be prepared for traffic travelling at higher speeds who may not be expecting you to appear in front of them!
As a safer alternative you can continue to Bowness and turn right at the first roundabout as described above.

Virgin trains operate on the North West Coast line with a stop at Oxenholme for the Lake District. Journey times from London are just over 3 hours. From Crewe the journey is 75 minutes and from Glasgow just over 2 hours
(Please check times before booking as this information is subject to change at short notice)
From Oxenholme an hourly service takes about 15 minutes to get to Windermere from where it is a short taxi ride to Limefitt
Taxi services are available from
The nearest major airports are in Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow. A growing number of international flights use Blackpool airport. A pre-booked return taxi journey to Manchester Airport would cost approximately £100.
The park is easily found on the left just after you pass Troutbeck Church coming from the South or on your right half a mile after the Queen’s Head coming from the Kirkstone Pass
On entering the park follow the drive through the gates
Once through the gates go down the hill past the reception building. No need to stop.
Cross the bridge over Troutbeck....
....and take the second turning on the right. Follow the road for 100 yards, (ignoring the small and rather confusing “no entry” sign shown on the right of this picture)and you will see Windermere Lodge directly in front of you on the corner. Be careful turning this bend as it is a blind corner and there may be oncoming traffic or children on bikes!
